About this work:


My aunt committed suicide in 2000, and to help myself cope with it I painted this, which was supposed to represent her and all her pain. The innocence and childlike face represents her inability to react as an adult to things that had haunted her since her childhood - it's also representative of the untimely death and the youthful life that was taken from this world.
