About this work:

The issue of weight restriction is one very close to my heart, and a significant problem ravaging the world today. It is too often ignored, swept under the rug, and I want attention to be called to it. It claims lives, and more than lives, it claims spirits. It causes the personality to be dormant and the person loses themselves--all to subscribe to a standard of beauty that is dictated by society. Society, as a whole, follows. They follow the fashion industry, which follows its peers within. They follow those around them whom they idolize, celebrities, co-workers... few people think for themselves. It is important to realize that beauty comes in different forms, and what is natural on a woman is what makes her most beautiful. Too my hair-dying, skin-tanning, implanting, suctioning, and restricting--we lose ourselves.
