lisafoster:

You have used such gorgeous colours in this picture, Francis, especially the blue of the swan. Your picture depicts her beauty, his masculinity and tenderness between them. I think this is my new favourite... ;-)

About this work:

According to myth Leda was the wife of Tyndareus, a king of Sparta. The god Zeus seduced her while in the guise of a swan. There are many variations to the story but one claim is that the children born from the union of Leda and the swan were Castor, Pollux, Helen (of Troy) and her sister Clytemnestra, although because Leda had made love to her husband on the same day as Zeus made his advances, Castor and Clytemnestra were mortal being the offspring of Tyndareus and Pollux and Helen were immortal being the product of the tryst with Zeus. Of course, this is probably all just idle gossip but at any rate I've attempted to make Leda as alluring as legend has it.
