This is a super detailed, unique artwork from circa 1990-2003, employing both Intaglio (etching), watercolor (painting), and ink (drawing) hand-made art methods to convey a sense of disassociation and change. No photography or computer art was employed in the making of this artwork. "Etched into the Land" has two etchings floating in space. The space around it may be a sunset or unusually modified landscape. The etchings are unnaturally emphasized and capture your attention but the surrounding environment is so full of beautiful detail and subtle drawing that it forces one to choose between the man-made squares or the the natural world. We all love beautiful sunsets and react favorably toward seeing a really spectacular one, but what we see has actually been modified by all the pollutants suspended in the air and what we really should be saying is something in disgust.
