PHYSICAL CULTURE

"PHYSICAL CULTURE", a mixed media piece with vintage parts of an alarm bell base, black rubber hose, General Motors Engineering acetate covering a photo, dark room bulb, player piano bellows section, copper part from air conditioning unit, house paint & a number dial from a cash register. Typical parts for my art!

Larry: Yet another fine work by you. It seems to be a bit of a departure from your usual sculptural mode of working, in that this work seems to beg one to possibly view it from any of the 360 degrees surrounding the work. Which now begs the question, is this intended to be seen in that manner? I also like your proclivity toward a bygone era of an aesthetic of the pin-up female. This impart just enough of a retro sensibility, and humanization to underscore and support the idea of a repurposing of these materials, that would otherwise be destined for that great landfill beyond, the great catcher of mans' need for stuff…sam
