This is one of my earliest action works, executed in 1981, and done while studying at the Art Students League in NYC from a classroom model. I won the painting award in 1981 from the ASL from another artwork done in this class. This piece encompasses two sheets of Arches, Acid-free, French Art Paper. Imagine the surprise of the teacher Lucia Saleme (wife of Attilio Saleme), when the watercolors came out and the paint began flying around abstractly. I met artist Glenn Shultis, while at the ASL, but he has sadly now passed on. Shultis also attended NYU and exhibited with me in many art exhibitions in the East Village during the 1980's. He was at one time, one of Julian Schnabel's art assistants. Shultis was the one who helped influence me into becoming also an art teacher, it just took me quite a while. Matting and framing of this work will be your responsibility, and acid-free matting is highly recommended. The approximate size of this artwork is (2x) 30" x 22" and could be framed separately or together in one frame with double mat cutouts.
