About this work:

Flowers with Auras – 花の発気体
Oil on Canvas Board
It’s was winter/ February, and still too cold to stand outside long enough to paint any landscapes, so I bought some flowers – to do a still life.
I know the roses are roses, but I don’t know what the other flowers are called. They’re called: ガベーラ in Japanese, perhaps the name is the same in English. At any rate I chose that bundle of flowers because I liked their colors the best.

A few months earlier a friend of mine was asking what auras were like, and I had trouble explaining it to him. I can see them when I try to see them, …and they appear sometimes when I space out. Honestly I don’t know what the size/ shape/ or colors mean, but:
Everything seems to have it/ one. Plants usually have a soft white/ light blue glow around them. You don’t usually notice it/ them, and it’s hard to see the whole thing all at once (it’s easier with people though). It/ They’re easier to see against a solid background, or after you’ve been meditating.
I painted the flowers because flowers are lovely. And I painted the Aura/s because I thought that other people might be curious what they look like.

There is some texture and gloss evident in the paint. I buy the most light resistant/ fade resistant paints, so its quality will last.
All of my pictures are: titled, signed, and dated on the back, with my smaller – less imposing “signature-mark” on the front. I make a habit of sending along any notes/ observations from the time each piece was completed to accompany them.
