This body of work was originally inspired by one of many amazing women in my life. I'm calling her "Jezzebel". Jezz raised two daughters as a single mother in the 1950's while working full time and falling in love as often as she could. Jezz married six times, moving forward each time with passion and rapture. Although inexplicably beautiful you can clearly see the presence of a life lived without boundary within every line and blemish on her face. Like with any idea or inspiration my view of her began to manifest into something much bigger. She represents the strength and vulnerability in every women. She has learned from each failure and with each failure comes more fortitude. Never claiming to be perfect but not apologizing for it either. Her question? What’s Next?
Photograph printed on canvas. "jezzebelle" and her blue chair were painted in later using acrylic and oil. Then stretched and framed with recycled gun metal. (floating frame)
