I had been reading an article on Lee Radziwill and her harried relationship with her sister, the late Jackie (Kennedy) Onassis and 'wahlah', I found myself expressing it. The two calm and prominent bird heads amidst encasing, entwined feathers. It was a private thing between sisters, yet unavoidably visible.
Every day we come up against adversity... situations we'd rather not be in... suffering the abuse of others, but even amidst all of this seeming 'elephant in the room' we must remain flint-faced and rise above looking not at the 'mess' around us but the hope in the eternal picture.
This piece has minimal relief to it but is mounted in a fashion so it sits in a floating manner from the wall 3/4 to an inch. The very edges have an aluminum leaf wrap that's 'tooled' so the shine isn't overpowering.
The second picture was taken before I glazed it... just including it for clear structure. The glaze obviously adds the shine and also brings out the depth of colors. This piece can look very different dependent on the lighting situation.
