When I joined my unit, there were 13 of us from the Chicago area who signed up together. Since then, 6 of them have committed suicide. I will never foget Jimmy jumping out of the helo at 2000 feet, yelling "fuck you" as he fell to his death. he was a nice kid--and I mean "kid".
We were lied to, used, and feel betrayed.
1000 vets attempt suicide every month. 18 succeed every day. these are VA figures, not phony propaganda. Real people so depressed about what their country is doing, they can't take it anymore. They have to find a solution.
