The mountain wraps around with his silence, and requires the silence of the mind.
Only the quiet sharp attention is granted, the high mountan is like the high spirit, a false step is a fall.
No, this is not an easy life! beautiful? yes, but it has ups and downs, jagged edges and murky bottom! I love the title, and the hint of red. Excellent, as always.
we share the love for the mountains that have been my first painting subject and my favorite hiking area ever, thank you for your nice words, you passion is wondrefull!
A place to measure each footfall carefully , to watch your step . A place to find reality to really BELIEVE , a place to feel every thrill life has to offer , the adrenaline rush , the raw , dangerous and the nasty all wrapped up in the most inspiration forming high places. Alpine choughs notice me barely , the mountain , not at all . Sometimes my soul is rock and i melt into my environment too well. Music plays loud in my mind.
She still calls me , the siren of the alps , she tempts me with danger but the gift is to know so much more of myself than before. She is beauty , true , but i dont have the blood of the snow leopard , above 30 thousand feet , humans begin to die , and yet the cat can live down here with us . SOme people learn to belong , some people will become forever part of the breath of the mountain . Loss of concentration is not an option . How sharp are you today?

I like the sepia colouring here. It helps to accentuate a sense of the ancientness of the mountains.

Great picture. The alps are my favorite place to be. Have spent a lot of time in Switzerland myself. Love your pictures.
