this painting was part of the Irish Artist's contemporary exclusive blood orange collection.
The story follows a lonely girl that owns an orange grove. there are reflections in the background inspired by the Arnolfini portrait by Van Eyck. in this portrait the family wished for oranges to be included in the fruit bowl because only wealthy families could afford oranges in the past.
Now this girl is picking the oranges to sell them in order to support her new baby.
