My most recent work, of which this is part, is an exploration of the divine. Which is not to say a spiritual or religous work; but more of an attempt to realize mankind's desire for unattainable perfection. Every stroke of paint is given the utmost consideration and nothing exists upon the canvas that was not absolutely intended. I find myself in this work to be inspired by both the works of twentieth century masters such as Motherwell and Rothko as well as Tibetan Buddhist Scrolls and Byzantine Iconagraphies. My goal with this work is to realize the very essence of beauty. My ultimate goal with this work is for the viewer to feel consumed by it, to feel as if they are being swallowed by the work and to be a willing participant sublimating themselves to this dialogue of viewer, artist and art.
