Megalopolis Untitled Number Nine 28
The design, colors and composition of this print is inspired by two artists. One, being Ben Nicholson, and the other, being Piet Mondrian. The fact that it is an image specifically made for prints has some echoes of Andy Warhol in it as well. While in the process of creating the series of these pictures, I was imagining what it would be like for a black operations helicopter pilot flying over a city at night in search of a target. There are obvious humorous elements to this story, but there is also that unknown question of...maybe...hmmmm...what if?
These particular series are forty-three inches by forty-three inches. To make a custom size print this large does cost forty to fifty dollars. There are other materials, such as matting, framing and glass which increase the price of these limited edition prints (25 each) which make them this valuable. I also put a couple hours of work making the original drawing, hours making all the series digitalized, and the work involved in framing them.
