This series of paintings I called Retro Girls. I have always been fascinated by roaring 20'es: fashion, dancing and style. I wanted to create a story, dialogs, portraying these women. I managed to combine my passion of retro and an impressionistic style. It helped me to spark the story on the canvases. I have painted narratives from everyday life. These paintings about woman: friendship, fun, gossip. I didn't want to capture the moment (photographic reality, which is not what I see when I look at things around me) rather capture the present mood, atmosphere and a story behind it. What are they talking about? - You ask me. I don't know. I am leaving this question to the audience, as every person can interpret it differently. And that is the beauty of it.
Compliments:

Your artworks are stunning! I do love this 20'es series. I'm sure I lived in that time in my previous incarnation! ;-)

Excellent work! This piece has all the flavor and impact of the best work of Toulouse-Lautrec but is painted in your own unique style. Kudos!
