Painting based on a photo of a dear friend's dog. This will be sent to her for Christmas. I'll replace this version with the final one after it is varnished.

Acrylic on canvas board, 18"x14"

The extra images show the different stages of the painting.

Stage 1: Outline shapes with raw umber, fill in dark areas with raw umber, add water and fill in medium areas, more water and fill in light areas.

Stage 2: Starting to add in details of the fur, still mostly monochromes. Sorry for fuzziness but camera didn't like the current lighting conditions.

Stage 3: Major details are in, just need to finalize the details.
