About the artist:

My brush name is Damis and I reside in Kaiserslautern, Germany. I was born in 1964 in Slovenia/Europe, where I fell in love with art while watching my Grandfather paint folk art, for which he was well-known.

I started painting in my early youth, mostly in pencil. Oil painting became my passion when I was about 20 years old.

Throughout my career as artist my Grandfather continued to be one of my mentors.I am purely self-taught – always open for various technical methods, styles and thoughts – but only, to stabilize and confirm my own way.

My art today is a celebration of freedom, spirit, thoughts and fantasy. Just one thought can provoke a painting or just a piece of it. It can be a mood, a feeling, that lets me paint on an empty canvas. And always is the intellect involved, sometimes as a conflict, sometimes as a harmonic togetherness of mind and feelings that help create a painting.

I am living in Germany since childhood and am a full-time freelance artist.
