In the series, Between, a grid or bands of color form the foundation of the paintings. Lines of color are built up at random to create a dense web. Intention and chance play between the structural foundation and web of lines. The layering of lines, space and fragments of paint combine to create a visual poem. Paintings like poems are a means of synthesizing and translating experience to stimulate another’s imagination and consciousness.

Ed Rowles:

Wonderful piece. I like the effect of layering randomness over the hard edge. Good idea!
