This is view of "Jamaica Bay" is from 1988. It was done on location, plein air, on the Brooklyn/Queens border of Marine Park National US Seashore looking due East from Floyd Bennett Field where Charles Lindberg made his historic flight across the Atlantic Ocean. The 31.5" x 27.5" solid oak/pine integral frame is JET handmade, pickle stained, and completely encloses the rear of the linen, heavy duty stretcher canvas. The oak outer frame also is decorated in the antique tradition, with acrylic gold filigree under the pickle stain, which gives the wood a softer look. The 26" x 18" oil painting on linen has been made with the highest quality paint and materials in the "Old Masters" tradition.
