Striped Bass

This is a 30' x 22" watercolor and ink circa 2002 on Acid-Free Arches Watercolor Paper of a large Striped Bass which is a saltwater game fish. I caught this large fish in the middle of December on a fly rod, using a 10 weight rod, a hand tied fly that I designed, and a TS 350 sinking fly line. I subsequently printed the fish, then later added all the color and details. I re-drew the fish 3 times before I was satisfied with the scales, etc. The art paper is 30" long and the fish was so big that it went over the paper length and I had to settle for no tail on this one. You can find other examples of my art here on this site that has just the tail! The artwork is not framed. This artwork is currently listed in the World Artist Directory.

	QuiltFinger: The scales are great! You should be really satisfied with them. I went deep sea fishing for striped bass with my dad, I couldn't cast, so I had the first mate do it for me ;) I've never caught that many fish in my life, my rod was on fire, too bad there was a pool.
