Thanks Wolverat for liking my "Stormy weather". Much appreciated. Like you I´m fascinated by Nordic mythology, which also to some extent correspond to German mythology of course, and of course had an impact on Wagner´s operas. I understand the problem with getting Sleipner right as you say, but your Odin is perfect with Hugin and Munin on his shoulders - very impressive. And your scetch showing his face is stunning. Have you read Snorre Sturlasson´s Edda which gives it all as a main source ? On Iceland they honour their writer Snorre, who wrote down the Edda in the 13th century according to tradition, but of course the stories go way back to the 9th century when Iceland was populated by refugee Norwegians, escaping the wrath of the Norwegian king. Their language today is very close to original Viking language from those days.

I remember riverrover talking about those black flies , he squashed them in his sketchbook ! did you see that ?? nasty :-) rather him than me ! tired of snow??? never happen to me :-) I never see any in the South of England , im on an island , rubbish for snow , totally.
