About vicstan:

I paint landscapes from fading memories of growing up in a dying mill town in East Lancashire.

During my childhood I excelled in art, but was uncertain on how to apply this ability. At art school I gained distinctions in all units and headed off to study film at degree level.

After working as a film lighting coordinator for several years, I realised that the world of work was never going to give me the personal gratification I craved. So I began to painting landscape in my spare time and this is where my main body of work Landscapes of the Mind was started

My work has proved so popular, I became a professional artist in April 2008 to meet demand.

I have previously exhibited around the Oxfordshire region, where I now live, and have future exhibitions planned nationally throughout 2008 and 2009.
