About vanessahughes:
Vanessa Hughes started out her first artistic endeavor as a child, fascinated with the outer world. Watching television programs on the Discovery channel and National Geographic, she intended to become an animal biologist. After years religiously drawing each animal and habitat, she realized her strength was in the art, rather than the science of it all. From a very early age she focused on the arts in everything she learned. She enrolled and excelled in every art related class offered in school.
After graduation Vanessa moved to Vancouver BC and began work at DeSerres Art Supplies and Framing. Three years working there opened her eyes to all the possible mediums and applications offered. This offered constant socialization with the local Artists, teachers, students, and other employees who specialized in different areas. Also through the store, she participated in annual art shows displaying work for 'the Drift on Main St'(a local art festival).
After toiling for years on a portfolio and being accepted in to the Studio Arts program at Capilano University, Vanessa decided, to her humor, that her artistic journey led it's own path. She is now living and working out of Sechelt, BC.
