About urbantigermalc:

Hi my name is Malcolm

I live in England in the UK

I am happily married with 3 gorgeous children.
Both my wife and I are full time carers as, unfortunately all 3 of them have a rare chromosone disorder that is so rare its Unique, there are no other recorded cases similar in the world.
The 2 oldest have Special needs, Learning dificulties and physical disabilities.
It is our Christian faith that keeps us going, and we believe the reason we manage is because the Lord keeps us and provides for us.

I have had much experience over 7 years of running a parent support group in the Bristol area, and acting as a voluntary representative, sitting on panels for Supportive Parents of Special Children with officers from, Bristol Social Services, Local Education Authority and PCT's, Health Authorities. With the aim of trying to better services for families with children who have Special needs.

I also did a 4 year term as a Parent Governor in our childrens School, chairing the Childrens Committee and being responsible for SEN (Special Educational Needs).
I have also worked with Children and young people over many years in the local church that we belonged too.

Recently we have moved from inner city Bristol to Burnham on Sea a small Somerset town on the coast, and we are now enjoying a much better quality of life.

As a family we do have many illnesses and problems to face on a daily basis, with many hospital appointments and specialists and various therapists to seee, i believe in Prayer and that God heals and keeps us safe.

My time out from caring and to keep sane is to find a little time to do some Painting that i find very relaxing. I find it is also a way of escaping from stresses and strains.

My Painting.................

I have always loved drawing and Painting from a very early age, this was developed during Secondary school. When i left school it was with several CSE's and O levels in both Art and Biology.

My first job was working as an Animal Keeper at Bristol Zoo, where i gained much experience and insight into many of the Animals characteristics, habits and behaviour.
I did many scetches and drawings and took lots of photographs when i had the opportunities. I also travel around the UK and Europe visiting other Zoos and private collections.
It was while working at the Zoo in the 1970's and 80's that i had many of my drawings published, in the "Ratel" magazine for "ABWAK" ( "Association of British Wild Animal Keepers".)

I took a course at Filton College in Bristol in the late 1990's and acheived an A level qualification. I then went on to do several OCN & advanced painting courses at the Bristol School of Art, nextdoor to the RWA, where i started showing some of my paintings at Queens road, Bristol.

In May 2006 I had my first solo exhibition
in the Folk House, Bristol, running for 5 weeks.
This generated much interested at the time
and i found myself being interviewed for
local Radio and TV, also there was a
4 page article on my paintings in the
Bristol Evening Posts Weekend Magazine
on May 6th 2006.
Some of my work has been shown in
other Exhibitions around Bristol.
I have another Exhibition running from
7th March - 4th April 2008.
So i was very busy working on more paintings for this show.

I do sell my Original paintings, and some of the more popular ones i do a Limited Edition run of 150 Prints.
(all numbered and signed)

Prices and availabilty of Paintings and prints you will find on the Price list page on my website.

I have had a few paintings commissioned,
one in the USA.

You may notice a lot of Tigers, well that is just because they are my favourite subject.

I can paint or draw anything..
so if you want a particular animal person or subject painted, please do contact me and we can discuss sizes, prices etc.
