My name is Shane L. Riley. I am a 37-year-old, disabled, single, white male. I am also a single father to a beautiful 12-year-old girl who is growing up too fast. I am veteran of both the U.S. Army as well as the U.S. Marine Corps...what can I say, I liked the punishment in my younger days.
One day I was walking thru WalMart looking for something to buy; I was bored to death. I came across the arts and crafts isles and decided to buy a beginner acrylic paint set with a small assortment of basic brushes. WalMart did not have any usable stretched canvases so I purchased the canvas boards, and I must say, I really enjoy painting on the canvas boards. Once I started to paint picture after picture, I found that I could not stop painting; I was in a sense, addicted.
As any beginner painter soon finds out, their earlier works are not quite as good as their newer works; you get better and better as one tries new and different painting methods. It took me awhile to figure out my niche in the abstract world of painting. Although some of my newer paintings are better than some of my older paintings, I still like each and every one of my paintings and I take great pride in my work. I am happy to be able to offer you my beautiful paintings and I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I have enjoyed painting them.
