Fantaisie Impromptu
Easy psychedelic literary art stuff

Dear Sparrows,
We are 5 people creative group from Ukraine. We are not mentally diseased and we are emotionally healthy. We are running art-book project and offering artist from all over the world to join to our creative process. The novel under the name Fantaisie Impromptu, written by one of us, is going to be published at the end of 2008. It is dedicated to the people’s losses and wins. By the artists and their sparrows we are aimed to create the art-book.

About Sparrows
The House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a member of the Old World sparrow family Passeridae. It is one of the most well-known birds living in residential areas and is and widely recognized both by its appearance and its characteristic chirping. An ancient English parable says that dead people’s souls reincarnate in sparrows.

About Piano
There is a house. Big or small. In the middle of rye fields or near a shop in a village. In the center of integral city or on a desert island. In Paris or Kiev, Miami or New York. In the middle of the house – the piano. Songs are played on it by notable composers, casual passers-by. Some play beautifully, and some have no idea where to begin. In those black-and-white keys expectations (the most valuable thing in the house is abstract) are put, expectations that are inexplicable with lexicon but understandable, nebulous things aimed at and concentrated on strategic desires.
If expectations are unrequited, they take off from the keys, through the windows and transmogrify into sparrows. There are lots of sparrows on a roof of this house. There are bad birds. There are good birds as well. Eventually, and possibly for the best, these expectations die.

About Novel.
The last half a year twenty three years old guy from Ukraine Sasha Shagi was writing a novel built on psychological experiments with him and people around him. After it is been done, the idea appeared – to create the art-book. Owing to those who already have lost or will lose. Either wishes to lose. Or knows how to lose. Combining all those people’s feelings I need you to describe each experience in art way.

About Art Stuff.
Painters, illustrators, designers, art-innovators, artistic persons are wanted for real¬ization the art-project.

For Creators.
Who operates what is impossible? Let’s take only strategically to not waste time on trifles. For example, something is planning, dreaming, writing and building and oops – everything has disappeared. Who would take the responsibility? You, someone else or everybody around you?
To become the participant of the project the composition (painting, illustration, design layout, size – 70mmx108mm) on a theme «As I have lost» are need to be created. All types of art works are welcomed. You could choose your own mood - characters could be sad, could be funny. It is all de¬pends on your attitude – are you glad, that have lost, or not. As suddenly so happens that from loss you have on the contrary won. The stylistic of layout is unimportant: oil, pencil, watercolor, design layout, photo installation. Attention! The presence of sparrow is must as the symbol of your loss or a prize. Do not forget to add a short story-example how you’ve lost, age, your country and name or pen name. The deadline – 1st May 2008.
