I am a mostly self-taught multimedia fiber artist whose works seeks to prcess and archive moments of particular sginifance during my travel experiences in India, Haiti, Brazil, Canada, Senegal, South Africa, St. Martin, and other places. Some pieces are inspired by local travels and my creative projects. Other forms of work include a beaded room divider, candles made in egg shells, a sculptural piece that includes four two-sided carboard panels with mutlimedia embellishments upright in a wooden base, beaded and silver jewelry, and paper collage on wood, particleboard, oaktag, cardboard and other hard surfaces, with embellishments that include pieces of broken mirror, raffia, fortunes from fortune cookies, cut-outs from magazines, and words written in magic marker. Recent works are combining textual and visual elements. I have shown my paper collages in a group exhibit,"Self-Taught Artists from Ohio" curated in Columbus, OH by Leni Anderson, and sold candles in gift shops in Columbus, Ohio and shown textile collages in a group show in a gallery in South Philadelphia, Pa. In June, 2009, I had my a 25-piece month-long solo exhibit at Pebble Hill Interfaith Church in Doylestown, Pa.
