About robertorizzo:
Roberto Rizzo was born in Naples and today he lives and works close to Fiuggi (FR).
After acheving classical studies he attended the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design of Milan) and worked as an illustrator for several publishing houses.
From 1996 part of his artistic activity has been devoted to the 'rockpainting art'.
In 2004 he composed the manual 'sassi dipinti' published by Mondadori.
At present time the artist partecipates to a lot of exhibitions in Italy and his works are exposed in galleries and are showed in many contemporary art catalogues.
A personal overview of Nature and above all a focus on the animal kingdom is the reading key to decode human society. My goal is to invite people to recover lost instincts under the weight of superstructures imposed during the years as well as a declaration toward a world that has always fascinated me and that represents a source of continuous inspiration. I mix the animal simbology with the history and the ancestral strength of the fairy tales. A portrait that shows the worth of life fulfilled with drama and beauty.
Roberto Rizzo è nato a Napoli, oggi vive e lavora nei pressi di Fiuggi (FR).
Dopo gli studi classici ha frequentato lo IED (Istituto Europeo di Design di Milano) e ha lavorato come illustratore per diverse case editrici.
Dal 1996 parte della sua attività artistica è dedicata alla pittura su pietra detta anche 'rockpainting art'.
Nel 2004 realizza il manuale 'sassi dipinti' edito da Mondadori.
L'artista partecipa oggi a numerose esposizioni in Italia e i suoi lavori sono esposti in gallerie e presenti in molti cataloghi di arte contemporanea.
Una visione personale della Natura e in particolare del regno animale si rivela la chiave di lettura ideale per decifrare la nostra società di uomini. Il mio è un invito a recuperare istinti perduti sotto il peso di sovrastrutture imposteci nel corso del tempo e una dichiarazione d'amore nei confronti di un mondo che da sempre mi affascina e che rappresenta per me fonte continua di ispirazione. Mescolo la simbologia animale alla storia, alla forza ancestrale delle fiabe. Esse ci raccontano il male di esistere, ma anche la sacralità della vita, la sua struggente, drammatica bellezza.
