About parkerartstudio:
Allan Friedlander paintings of landscapes, flowers, and abstracts reflect his many interests. Born and raised in Southern Georgia gave him a passion for the rural countryside and a love of the outdoors. After leaving the South Allan had the opportunity to live in many other parts of the country and even aboard. Finally settling in Northern California one of the most beautiful areas of the country.
In pursuit of his passion, he studied art at Washington University and Maryland Institute College of Art obtaining his BFA degree in Fine Art. Allan spent many years doing Stock Photography. Allan traveled the world taking photographs. Then in 1999 a decision was made to go full time as a painter using photography only as a source for his landscape paintings. Giving up a job of over 20 years, to devote full time efforts to painting.
Internally driven and emotionally charged his work has a look of a mixture of different styles. With the ability to combine different subjects of flowers and landscapes in an Abstract manner which gives the paintings a special look. Color being a key element.
In his paintings he has tried to create a feeling of the beauty that Allan sees all around him in nature. Sometimes done in an abstract or semi-abstract manner . The important thing is feelings use thru colors to express different emotions. This is the guiding force of the work and it comes from Allan's deepest inner feelings. Hoping to share that excitement with others. With the hope that the viewer can enjoy and be moved.
In a short period of time Allan a self-representing artist has sold hundreds of paintings in the United States and in countries all over the world including Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Holland, Mexico, Portugal, Japan, Switzerland and others.
His paintings are part of numerous private and corporate collections.
Allan’s work has been selected for the Art in Embassies Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and will be displayed at the U.S. Embassy in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Allan: I see a previous visit to your lively site was made, and it was instigated by the same painting 'Azaleas'. It is always a pleasure to visit with a collegue, as I have also earned a degree from MICA (70). Another work I find exciting is 'Swept Away', as this audaciously embody a collision of two characteristics that define your more studied acts of hand-eye with the more abstract. California has celebrated a most exciting group of landscape painters, turn of the century to about the mid 30's, it seems you are at the fore of yet another group of contemporary practitioners that history will certaintly afford a similar mantle of distinction. I also enjoy 'Chopped Liver'. Should you ever have reason to be in the N.Y.C. region we must get together over issues of aRt, just give a heads-up via the artbreak site, thanks 4 u'r many inspiring postings…sam

allan: I have very much enjoyed going through your works. You seem to have many tools: color, pallette, compo., that combine well with your healthy sense of paint and it's possibilities. While I truly like the more conventionally seen landscapes, when you leave that world and enter that of your imagination the canvased really sing. The painting that drew me to your works was 'Azalias' a terrific work to be sure. Thanx for your wonderful postings...sam
