I work mainly in acrylic, and paint primarily on stretched canvas. Some of my largest influences are the Regionalists, such as Thomas Hart Benton, Grant Wood, and Edward Hopper, as well as artists of the Ashcan School, some of which include Robert Henri, John Sloan, and George Bellows. More modern influences include Wayne Thiebaud, Lucian Freud, and Jerome Witkin.
I especially enjoy exploring light on surfaces, especially sunlight on buildings and objects. I also have a great deal of fun putting complimentary colors beside one another to define edges and planes.
I continually strive to refine my palette, and to more accurately see color and value.
