My paintings are works of imagination, meant to draw you in, encourage you to ask questions. For example, 'What is that?'. It's a good starter.
They're about exploration. Explore.
I'm influenced by a lot of things, the history and practice of visual art, science fiction, comedy, movies, music, science, spirituality, psychology. All of these things have to be strained through the filter of my consciousness and the end result is something that's kind of serious and kind of wacky and kind of strange and maybe a little funny. I find that to be an accurate description of life, ever-changing and never one thing at a time. That would be too easy.
As for process, certain aspects of the composition of a painting are drawn individually onto the canvas to represent feelings, pondering, and exclamations then added to and worked together. As the drawing develops it coheres and makes connections throughout the piece resulting in the depiction of an abstract environment. Pardon me for the somewhat clinical description of what I find to be, in practice, a moving and therapeutic experience, but there it is. Color is how I feel, I don't feel subdued so I don't tend to use subdued hues.
Ultimately I wish for the viewer to conclude what the messages in my paintings are by deciphering the piece and interpreting the psychology of it. It's there. I know what I was feeling and thinking when I was made the painting and while that directly informs what it ends up being I want you, the viewer, to have your own experience with it. Art is about thinking for yourself and I find that the best Art is like life, more puzzle than answer. As an artist I want to nudge you in the direction of an idea, not clobber you over the head with one.
Enjoy, interpret, create.

Hello to the depths of timely order. I just started my gallery of "poetic mathematics" Your spirit of art is magical. I would put you my center any day Rhythms just dance off your pallet. Your pallet just poured over me. Tens being the top of the scale. Now has to be re calibrated multidimensionality. That kind of quality is kind of good to have around. Your art go's especially well while listening to dighead music. I like it.
