About oenonehammersley:
Award-winning artist Oenone Hammersley specializes in rainforest and wildlife art. She has been exhibiting regularly since 1980. She has lived for many years in Africa, Australia and Greece, where she has shown her work as well as in UK and USA. Working in oil on canvas and watercolour and gouache on paper. Oenone is influenced by the paintings of Matisse, Gauguin and Rousseau. She has created her own unique style that is intensly colourful. Deriving inspiration from her travels to India, south east Asia and Latin America. Oenone is deeply commited to conservation of wildlife through her work, and is involved with The World Land Trust and Flora and Fauna International. Oenone was born in England and studied Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Art, followed by printmaking at the City Literary Institute. She is married and is currently living in Virginia USA.
