About novamalgosia:
Life throws a great deal of irony and confusion our way. We are not unlike our own cells, in constant bombardment by radiation, ever-changing. How we respond to stimuli, how we express ourselves, makes us who we are.
Having said that, my paintings express my reaction to external stimuli, to my own emotions and to the beings and places I come in contact with.
When I am working with a subject (whom I usually photograph), I make a connection, of love, hate, respect, fear, resentment, admiration, etc. These feelings are then transfered onto canvas in the form of my interpretation of their person(ality). So, it is 50/50, half about my subject and half about how I have experienced it.
The keys to my work are Interaction, Connection and Reaction, all of which lead to better Understanding.
