Is there anyway to free ourselves of any attachment to a predetermined intention? Is there any answer to the human quest of its own essence? What is that etheric nature of human experience; and how can we translate it through our own personal experience/process? Transcending the individual experience to better express the collective event is part of my quest.
As an artist, my interest spans exploration to interpretation, the paradox between research and statement. Each piece being read as a marker, a fragment of a profound truth, part of the creative process (act) itself; that can not be interpreted in a simplistic manner.
At the beginning each piece starts without reference to any concept or predefine imagery - in a sense, I let myself be guided through the different steps of the creative process. Throughout that process, many contradictions, paradoxes and/or coincidence/synchronicity confront me. These are all part of my experience and help to transcend the complexity.

Wonderful. Abstract until you start looking. I love Evanescence.

Dear Nlemelin, I would love to be your friend! After seeing your art and reading art statement I still wish that you able to put in writing your thoughts about each work. You said that “each piece starts without reference to any concept or predefine imagery,” but it should be some kind of emotional condition that leads you to use not green but red color. Brash strokes; in some paintings I see soft, organic hand movement in others aggressive, human forms are distorted and so on. It is definitely emotions there and, of course, I can use my imagination, but if you will describe the state of your mind at the moment of choosing colors, or forms or…that will help other people to understand that the art is a great healing instrument to express anger, stress, disappointment and even happiness. I assume you will take my writing as a compliment and wish. Thank you!
