Born 1949, Shaftesbury, Dorset, England. Grew up in Hertfordshire and North London, then studied, lived and worked in Brighton for over 30 years. Now living between Hamburg, Germany and Brighton, S. England.
My work is rooted in European figurative painterly traditions. To date I've found endless pleasure, seduction and inspiration from landscape and the naked female. My paintings require little narrative - it's really all in the viewing and the physical picture.
I will state that my intention is not to make pretty scenes, the attempt is always to create something with a transcendental mood/moment/light/sense.
1968-69 Hornsey College of Art, N. London.
1969-72 Brighton College of Art, BA Graphics Design & Illustration
1972-1977 University of Sussex, Media Dept staff designer and filmmaker.
1977-79 Travelling - Asia, USA and Europe.
1980-2001 Formed Rock Graphics in Brighton: own company/partnership working in advertising, illustration and educational publishing.
Since 2002, fulltime painting, working in Germany and England.

1996, 98, 2000 South East Arts Group shows, also Open House Studios, Brighton Festival since 1995.
Works in private collections in UK, USA, Spain, France, Denmark and Germany.
