About manohar:

M.R. Manohar is a self-taught artist, who never had the opportunity of receiving formal training in art. Over the years, he has developed an original style and technique, using mostly acrylic and oil paints on canvas. He also does oil pastel and pencil sketches, and some metal embossing on aluminum and copper sheets.
During his college days, Manohar's life changed suddenly when he came in contact with the mentally disabled, and was drawn to share his life with them in a International residential community. After spending 13 years there, he founded his own organization that works with people with mental disabilities and their families, especially those impoverished, from the rural areas and slums of Karnataka, South India. It has now been 30 years since he has been in this helping profession and he continues his mission. He also travels extensively to remote drought prone villages of north Karnataka providing counseling services to people with mental disabilities \mental illness and their families.
His art is an expression and a reflection of his relationship with marginalized people, and also of his personal journey through life.
"During the years, art has been the essence of my life. I have also managed to use art as a therapy in my work as a counselor and therapist. I hope you will enjoy my expressions from within." - M.R. Manohar
