About lowbrowbob:

I began at a very young age drawing cartoons, I was inspired by comic books, Mad Magazine and the Sunday newspaper comics. I drew several comic strips that I submitted for syndication in the dream of being a published comic strip artist. I had a cartoon strip I drew for several years called Gimpy Golfer that I was able to sell a few strips to magazines and local news papers, but never had real success with it. I decided about 5 years ago to do a painting of my Gimpy Golfer caricature, and it was at that moment I was hooked. My Art style is more a Lowbrow style and my motivation for my golf paintings comes mostly from my experiences on the golf course. The past few years I have incorporated a more surreal style as I found that I had things other than golf I needed to express. My motivation for my latest works have come from what is on my mind that I need to express. My latest painting "Salvation" comes from a dark time when I lost several people close to me and I began to question Christianity.
