About kdart:

Born in south London, and originally trained in calligraphy and lettering, I moved to west Wales to live and work in the mid 1990’s. My relationship with lettering alongside an interest in literature and poetry, both my own writing and the influence of other writers, has brought a textual/literary dimension to the work – a poetic aesthetic.

I'm reluctant to label myself through the use of materials. Although I'm am very involved with the way that I make my work and the materials I use, for me the medium is ultimately dependent on context. I think of myself as a bit of a hybrid.

Following an award from the Arts Council of Wales in 2007, I toured a project called Inside the Birdhouse (www.insidethebirdhouse.co.uk) through Wales.
