About islandgirl1971:
I am an immigrant's daughter. Came to America when I was 9 from the Azores. I am the oldest of 5 kids. Got married at 23 and had a wonderful daughter at 30. Became widowed rather tragically when I was 44. My husband was murdered. A week after my husband died, I discovered this whole other life he had, so my life became some sort of a soap opera for about 4 years. Turned to abstract art as a way to deal with the chaos. Sequestered myself in my room for 4 months and painted 75 paintings. I have a whole new life now. Currently trying to find work as a Nanny and so need to sell my art to make ends meet. I hope that you like my stuff. I used to do traditional art, like landscapes and flowers, but I am finding that I get so much more out of painting abstract.

I love all the art work on here. It's amazing. I am still trying to upload all of my stuff. I have over 75 paintings, so it may take sometime.
