Thanks for your wonderful, mindful comment. I home run and a whisper to my soul. When I went to school, they all wanted me to go into teaching; we need more Latino role models they said. Ignoring the truth that we come in all professions. I don't want to be misunderstood, as I believe teaching to be a wonderful occupation. I am secretly in love with teachers. And can you imagine that in the first grade I was the teacher's pet. I had very little clothing, a good excuse to stay home, but Ms. Gladis didn't give up on me; going beyond her call of duty, she sent kids to fetched me: they washed my clothes, waited till they dried and brought me back into the class room. Writting is one of my aspirations.
