About imdjs:

My name is Chen Guangliang. I was born on January 5th 1980 in Guangdong province. From an early age I have had a great interest in painting. When I studied at elementary school, I began to learn how to copy caricatures. I thoroughly learned the basic structure of the human body and ingrained it in my mind which gave me a sense of freedom in my art.
At that time I thought that I might become a caricaturist, but for various reasons I did not follow that road, and by middle school age I was studying about the materials and techniques of painting . I have been creating artwork since high school. I didn’t have many pieces because I never thought that I could be a professional painter. I just sent several of my original artworks to my good friends. Since I saw the work of domestic and foreign masters and observed the growing interest in painting, which gave me greater inspiration and ambition to succeed with my work.
Without any famous teacher to guide me, I have been forced to research the arts on my own. China is an ancient civilization, and I have had a deep interest in Chinese traditional culture. It has always been my wish to find a way to introduce traditional Chinese culture to people of other lands. I feel that painting is the most direct method of accomplishing that, which is why the theme of so many of my paintings is Chinese myths and legends.. Part of this is communicating the messages of religion such as Buddhism. I prefer to use the world’s popular painting medium which is oil to express this subject, rather than traditional Chinese painting, in the hope that it will communicate better to more people.
