Artist Statement:
Art for me is a contradiction in itself, encompassing hypocrisy and integrity. It is a blending of elements that allows me the ability to present my ideas in visual form.
My intent as a painter is to please my eye much the way a chief pleases the palate. I paint because of my encounters with others and the experiences we (people) have. Our life experiences provide me subject matter. Through my filter they become a contorted compilation and recording of day to day life. I aspire to instill hope and joy in the hearts and minds of others while gaining some understanding of life through my work.

The joy of painting and sculpting is my life. My Life’s work is to find the simplest approach to solving a problem. How to create and produce art is the problem that reigns supreme over me. Through my works I am able to articulate within as well as produce an outward manifestation of: my ideas, beliefs, qualms, and loves. Were it not for the experiences and interactions I have with people, I would have no ammunition for my arsenal of brushes, paint, and wood. I must create to sustain myself.
