Son of Nivaldo mason and a housewife Valdetina where he lives with 4 more for a total of 8 siblings.

Chronology

1979 - Come to São Paulo, direct to the West.

Filho do pedreiro Nivaldo e da dona de casa Valdetina, onde vive com mais 4 de um total de 8 irmãos.

Cronologia

1979 – Chega a São Paulo, direto para Zona Oeste.

1986 – Começa a dançar quando a onda do breaking chegou a escola e contagiou imediatamente todos, era o boom do Hip Hop.

1989 – Cria a gang CDN (caveiras da noite) e começa a pichar as ruas, com frases de protesto e alertas sociais ao povo excluído.

1991 – Após saber da pichação no Cristo Redentor, por pichadores também da zona oeste, começa perder a vontade de pichar, por não conseguir ultrapassar o feito deles, perde mais de 1 ano, dormindo mal, pichando pouco, momentos de depressão, somente pensando em ira para os EUA para pichar a Estátua da Liberdade. Sem sucesso, pensa em parar de pichar.

1993 – Faz o último picho, invadindo um grande banco e quase é apanhado nesta última aventura. Meses depois começa a se interessar por arte e frequenta exposições, e tudo que se refere a arte em geral.

1996 – Freqüenta oficina de stencil art, e, após 2 meses de aula, projeta a revista Arte Nas Ruas, sai do emprego de paisagista e começar a viver da arte, fazendo projetos em escolas públicas e associações culturais; faz sua primeira exposição em uma escola pública.

1997 – Começa a saga dos Peoples, cria vários personagens, que dá base para seus trabalhos até hoje. Inicia o Art Gratia, espécie de free art, distribuindo obras pelas ruas, pondo de ônibus, dentro dos ônibus, e para as pessoas em geral. Trabalha como monitor do artista Arthur Lara, grafiteiro da primeira geração de SP.

1998 – Assina o folder da exposição Grafite Hip-Hop do fotógrafo Cláudio Schapochinik, cria a união graffiti, posse que reúne grafiteiros, rappers e djs, e inicia o núcleo hip-hop dentro da ONG Ação Educativa. É convidado para atuar como assistente de direção do documentário PIXADOR. Cria o Fanzine Luta (enquanto a revista não sai); começa a chamar a atenção da mídia.

1999 – Não realiza mais trabalhos comerciais e passa a divulgar somente seus Peoples, muda o nome para 9370, para pintar na rua com mais sossego.

2000 – Volta a usar o nome Gejo, e a 9370 vira uma marca Hip-Hop, hoje reconhecida no mundo inteiro; participa da criação do núcleo de graffiti da Cidade Escola Aprendiz; lançando o documentário PIXADOR no Espaço Unibanco, que ficou lotado e marcou a história da street art no Brasil.

2001 – Lança a revista Arte nas Ruas, que logo é espalhada pelo mundo através da Art & Crime e culmina na invasão de estrangeiros no Brasil para estudar o estilo tupiniquim de fazer graffiti; vira graf editor do jornal estação Hip-Hop e do site Manuscrito da UOL.

2002 – Cria e produz a exposição Writer´s SP no MUBE, uma das primeiras exposições de graffiti em museu; insere o graffiti dentro do mercado mundo mix, fazendo a curadoria e produção em 4 edições; é convidado para expor no Museu de Helsink, Finlândia, mas na consegue patrocínio.

2003 – Coordena e produz a pintura de um dos maiores murais do mundo, na Avenida Vinte e Três de Maio, junto ao artista francês Philipe Maiux, para o aniversário de São Paulo, 200m x 9 m.

2006 – Após tempos de desânimo, resolveu seguir um pensamento -quando está tudo confuso, volte para o início – assim retorna ao povoado onde nasceu, 30 anos de atraso, mas foi uma experiência revolucionária, criou novos projetos e um novo artista surgiu; idealiza o Centro Cultural Sítio do Tatu Amarelo, para ser erguido no terreno onde nasceu; começa a expor em vários locais e uma obra acaba chegando as mãos da galerista Mônica Filgueiras, que tempos depois o influencia a comercializar suas obras, mesmo sem intenção de caráter comercial, assim, abrindo a cabeça quanto a ser artista e viver de arte.

2007 – Faz sua primeira exposição individual, no Collégio das Artes, local onde artistas de renome ministravam aulas; cria o projeto Arte x Armas, exposição coletiva com mais de 100 artistas mundiais, entre grafiteiros, pichadores, designers, artesãos, artistas plásticos...(ainda em andamento); realiza mais uma exposição na Galeria Central.

2008 – Faz uma exposição individual no Senac Consolação e leva a exposição O Povo na UTI para dentro de um hospital; faz uma individual na Assembléia Legislativa de São Paulo; em seguida expõe em diversos países, EUA, Alemanha, Bélgica, Espanha, Itália, Cingapura, Irlanda; cria o Free Art Fest, uma exposição coletiva mundial, que depois da exposição distribui as obras gratuitamente. É a primeira vez que acontece esta exposição no Brasil;já está na edição # 4 ; começa a gravar um documentário de 20 anos de rua.

2009 – no processo de montagem do acervo do centro cultural SITIO DO TATU AMARELO ,o artista conhece os editores de gravuras Pedro Paulo Mendes e Teca Lacerda , que depois de conhecer a obra e a trajetória artística, patrocinam as primeiras gravuras profissionais e o convidam para ser curador e participante do primeiro álbum de gravuras do brasil ,somente com artistas de rua marginalizados dos anos 80 .
A parceria com os editores vem também em apoio a idéia do artista em acessibilizar suas obras , para o maior numero de pessoas, não somente pessoas abastadas ,mas também o porteiro, o zelador ,a dona de casa , pessoas que comumente não frequentam galerias e não podem pagar um valor alto pela obra do artista . mas ele faz questão da arte estar também onde o povo está, independente de classe social .Objetivo atingido utilizando e técnica da gravura .
Em março de 2009 , recebe convite da galerista Mônica Filgueiras, e realiza o Free Art Fest dentro da galeria, sendo a primeira galeria do Brasil a distribuir obras de arte gratuitamente; faz sua primeira individual no Mato Grosso do Sul e é convidado para fazer sua primeira individual internacional na Itália.
