I think the reason for the difference to photography that I feel is that the scenes are painted with devotion (one can see each brush stroke) whereas a snap shot is quickly done, put into an album and therefore is rather unspectacular.

Martina was born in Holland. She immigrated to Canada at 6. Drawn to strong interplay of light and shadow her paintings quoted as 'very nurturing and emotive ~ bring out love, passion and tenderness.' Martina is motivated to produce intimate and quality Works by being selective. Also in commissioned Paintings. She considers natural light sources as the essence of holding spontaneous moments most beautifully.
