Some things you can only appreciate in retrospect...like a fine wine with subtle notes that refine and age each year; until it is finally uncorked and enjoyed.

Jennifer Sowders has experienced this refining sweetness, from illustrator, writer, screenwriter, producer, editor, graphic artist to nationally winning fine artist (etc. etc.!) over the years.

Growing up on a 'dead end' road in the country; this Ohio native spent a lot of time studying nature. Fossil hunts in a creek bed...watching the barn swallows dive for insects...lying atop a round hay bale and pondering the fields and sky; all became an inspiration in need of an expressive outlet in which the creative arts fulfilled.

Jennifer vacillates between 3 different modes of expression...video and 2 separate series of physical work.

In the 'Freedom' series she expresses the challenges of balancing the hats of artist, wife and mother; with unorthodox inspiration stemming from the works of M.C. Escher. While, in her 'Hands' series, (a societal and spiritual melding) stirs any audience. Rich meaning is drawn on an individual basis as each viewer finds themselves moved by the emotional tone of the piece, depiction, or left with a hunger to discover 'why?'.
