My name is Elizabeth Padillo Olesen. I come originally from the Philippines and presently residing in Denmark. I am married to a Dane. I am a teacher in a Danish Public School, a wife and a mother to four children.
I love painting. It is for me a form of catharsis from busy life.
I teach art, music, English, history and religious studies. I want to hear music when I do painting and something inside me is awakened.
I want my painting to be a reflection of my Christian faith and how I look at life and the world.
The sale of my paintings supports the children`s program in my home fishing island in the Philippines. See more description in my own website.

Beth, Thanks for the compliment on "Both Sides of the Fence". This was taken with a toy camera, a Diana, and is a double exposure. The only thing digital is that the negative was scanned into the computer and the colors adjusted slightly. Geoff

Hello Beth - good to hear from you and thank you for the nice things you said. I too must have music when I work - rhythms support a transported state of mind. I like to forget I'm painting and let something else do the figuring out. There must be loads of hippy names for it! You're doing great work and keep on keeping on!

Thank you Beth, those portraits that I had painted were all real people who model for us at a certain sum of money for a class of about 20 students and I only use coloured papers instead of using the normal white drawing paper that most of the students does. This way it saved a lot of paints.I also did sum paper duo mini sculpturs on some figurines as well. You can login to :- http://www.artmesh.org/profiles/florence_shen/portfolios/23864/artworks and http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/yourgallery/artist_profile/68814.html to see them.Nice to hear from yu again. Cicily, thanks for your note. Of course, you can come for a cup of tea or I can make a good Filipino meal. We will find time in the future. For now I am busy with my work and also for the preparations for my trip. I will visit my mother in the Philippines and will spend the whole summer there. Do you exhibit your work in other places? I hope you do something for your nice creations. Take care. I look forward to see more of your art works.

Hi ! I´m living in the north of Sweden in Sollefteå, it´s far away from Denmark, but I wish I could visit you in an easy way for a cup of coffee. I´m happy you like my "Nova". As you see I have a lot of several stiles and I can´t do anything about it. Have a good sunday ! (This morning I saw a small thin cat in the wood and I took her with me to my home, she is very happy now and to morrow i have to search her owners.) By from Cicily

Thanks for noticing our work. The Doray painting was based on images from Filipino film maker Marilou Diaz Abaya's work.

Ok, in painting "Dreaming Anna" I depicted a real six years old Anna and her parents. In my believes any family structured as a little kingdom with a King and a Queen and rules, created by them. So, one of the rules in kingdom where Anna lives - no pets! Beyond her love for birds she believes that every matter with wings, including angels, came from Golden Egg While I was listening Anna's stories I realize that this is a great mix of Bible, and folk stories, and her life.

Hello, Elizabeth! Thank you for your compliments about my "Elisabeth" painting. You are asking about material I was using in my painting. Well, this is pure pastel, presisly pastel pencil. Many layers of different colors. This work is different from my others in a way of applying the lines; very light, airy in contrast with others. This, better say, is the collage of thoughts of the girl, who is the descendant of the last Qeen of England (after her started a kingship of Great Britain). From history we know that this qeen never was married, because of political reason. Beyend of her great craft in politics, as a fact, she was a famouse for her wekness toward men (just like her father the Tudor). As a result about five children of hers were adapted by close royal families. Lately historians start talk about descendants of the qeen. My Elisabeth is one of them.

Hi Beth ! Thanks for your lovely words. The title "Dinah" is reffering to Prinsess Dianas accident in the tunnel, her death... I made this picture before her death. I think I can see in your art that you are a spirit person too. Your works are very interesting, love it
