My sister and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. When we were very little our parents were college students and had very little time for us. To keep us out of the way, they gave us pens and pencils and told that we can draw everywhere. We were allowed to draw on floor, furniture, walls, and everything we could put our little hands on. Constant practice made us advanced artists for our age. Later in the kindergarten our peers lined up to get a custom made “work-of-art” from us.
When I was 11 in order to further develop my artistic skills my mother sent me to a prestigious art school. I found the programs in this school very dull. Somehow subjects like vases, teakettles and wax fruit couldn’t fuel my inspiration. I felt bored and annoyed. I wanted to see a human model, preferably naked. But for that treat I had to stay with the school for a few years. Although I was considered a capable student and my art-works were taken for exhibits on a weekly basis, I couldn’t bear this “studying” anymore and dropped out after one year. This did not stop me from drawing. It actually gave me more liberty. Knowing that I didn’t have to stare at the kitchenware with dead flowers any longer, I started to draw/paint whatever I wanted.
I love freedom and don’t like to be restricted by anything. I allow my mind to wonder, and think about intangible things, like feelings, life, time, the universe… therefore I love fantasy. I also admire the beauty of the human body, thus my other favorite subject is nude. I can be inspired by many things: interesting people, alternative music, midnight walk, exciting trip, theatre, nature, and etc.
In addition to art I love mathematics and numbers. In my other life I’m working in financial services. Sometimes I merge work and art: I draw sketches during long and hideous conference calls.
