About LisaJBaranack:
I've drawn and painted since I can remember. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and earned my BS degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of DAAP, Graphic Design. During my last year at university, I wanted to take some art courses outside of the graphic design curriculum and enrolled in life drawing and painting. Fell in love with both courses and promised I'd go back to it - someday.
Worked as a professional designer for over 15 years in various cities creating/producing/art directing collateral work for annual reports, corporate identity, environmental graphics and advertising.
Moved to the UK for my husbands job and gave up the design business but kept my hand in art starting and teaching an after school arts program at the pre-prep my son attended in Berkshire.
We spent 8 years traveling as much as possible - taking the car every weekend to explore the UK or transporting the car via Hovercraft or Chunnel to Europe and driving everywhere and even flying to other countries as far as South Africa and renting a car to explore the area.
Upon repatriating to Arizona, I've finally settled down long enough to paint and draw again. The wonderful journeys filled with different colors, music, food, languages, schools, museums, light, history, architecture, friendships have inspired my artwork and enriched my life.
