Larry: I am so pleased about the ways in which your many efforts are paying off, particularly at the Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Center. Should you have announcements on this exhibition please send me one. If you have a photo rendition of the Obama/Romney piece send me as I would also like to see this work. Your 'EXPOSED' box remind me of how the Polish people demonstrated when their communist leader would address the nation on TV, they would attach a sign to the TV that said TV Kwamia, meaningTV lies, set the TV in their window (facing the street) and leave their home and walk the streets of their villages and cities when the address by their leader was being broadcast. LarryZdeb: Your constructs are quite alluring, both from an aesthetic and conceptual place. Your ranging use of materials is elegant, and the use of the portraits to carry the concept is quite ingenious. Do you ever take the time to perhaps bury them in the ground or expose to moisture before adding the more perishible materials? I suggest this as a way to extend the antique quality in-as-much as this may add a patina to, particularly the metals, -copper turning green etc. Don't pay any mind as these are the ramblings of one who always asks, what if?, they are quite something as they are…sam

About LarryZdeb:

I am Larry Zdeb, an artist from Troy, Michigan. Automatism, Dada and chance always seem to find a way into my work. My mixed media constructions use vintage items wherever possible, I want the art to appear as if it were made in the past. Many of my pieces are internally illuminated using batteries.
I exhibit in several local shows each year and received many favorable magazine articles about my work.
Presently my work can be found at ARTSPACE 2 Gallery in Birmingham, Michigan & the Dow Museum of Science & Art in Midland, Michigan.
Two pieces of my work are in the VIRIDIAN ARTISTS INC. Gallery show, "ART FROM DETRITUS: Recycling with Imagination" in New York. The show runs from November 16 through December 4th, 2010.
