Joseph Wyss, born 1945
Self-educated artist
I was originally trained as a mechanical fitter and worked as a sales engineer in the field of water treatment between 1970 and 2000. Having extensively explored watercolour techniques since 1984, I started my career as a freelance painter in 2000.
The desire to create things of my own has accompanied me since early childhood. My enthusiasm for nature - and especially for water being one of the natural elements - is reflected in many of my works.
Apart from playing “music from the sheet” I am more and more fascinated by also playing “ad lib” – be it in watercolour or acrylic as my preferred media. My motto “jump and a net will appear” is also reflected by the way I approach my abstract works.
Since 1994 I have regularly exhibited in Switzerland.
